There’s wideness in Unity
Like the wideness of the Sea;
There’s kindness in Justice
This is more than Liberty.
There is no place where sorrows
Are more felt than in the Hearten
There is no place where earth’s failings
Have such love, kindly given
There is joy enough for thousands
Of a new world as fresh as this;
There is room for great creations
In that inner haven of bliss
For the thought of God is broader
Than the measure of man’s mind;
And the heart of the Immortal
Is most wonderfully kind:
But we make our grace too narrow
By false limits of our own;
And we magnify our favour
With zeal we did not own.
If our love were but more simple
We would be as the world;
And our lives would be all sunshine
In the sweetness of love
